In today’s business landscape, where diversity and inclusion are essential for success, public events like Bristol’s The Welcome Party offer more than just entertainment – they provide a vital platform for shifting perceptions and building stronger, more inclusive communities.

This new event, which takes place on 7 November to celebrate the talents and stories of refugees and migrants through music, art and storytelling, is an ideal opportunity for businesses to demonstrate their commitment to social responsibility, diversity and community engagement.

Tal, who requested his real name not be used, is 22 and arrived in the UK from Syria as a refugee in 2022. He lives in supported accommodation in Birmingham provided by social enterprise ACH.

Many migrants and refugees in the UK share Tal’s feelings says Nevinder Ram, operations manager at Himilo, ACH’s training subsidiary. He mentions ACH’s ‘Rethinking Refugee’ campaign, which they launched to tackle misinformation about refugees and asylum seekers living in the UK.

The Welcome Party will celebrate inclusivity and success by highlighting refugees’ contributions to Bristol.

The gala dinner on 7 November will give businesses a chance to hear, see and literally taste the positive impact refugees, people seeking asylum and vulnerable migrants have on the city.

It is being organised by ACH, the Bristol social enterprise building a better future for refugees and migrants by providing tailored integration services.
