Birmingham

Our team in Birmingham celebrated Refugee Week this year by visiting our tenants and bringing food and drinks to our houses!

Mary, our Support & Integration Team Leader, said:

'The support team, with the help of the housing team too, visited every property here in Birmingham with some sweet treats and drinks. It was lovely to see our tenants in their own space rather than in a more formal setting of the office. The feedback was really positive, they felt cared for and being provided for by ACH.

There were some tenants that had moved in during lockdown so we hadn’t met them face to face yet. It was nice to see them and meet them in person!'

Bristol

On a sunny Wednesday in Eastville Park, we hosted a Refugee Week BBQ Picnic for our staff and tenants. After more than a year of Covid restrictions, this was a fantastic chance to come and celebrate in our favourite way at ACH way: by breaking bread and eating together!

Emma our Support and Integration Team Leader took on the vital job of manning the BBQ…

For the more sporty ACHers, there was a game of cricket to earn the calories from the BBQ…

Wolverhampton

Our Wolverhampton support team unleashed their sense of adventure and took tenants on a rock climbing lesson for Refugee Week.

Dempsey from our Wolverhampton support team told us about their day…

‘Wolverhampton ACH organised a day out activity to #WolfMountain where our tenants had a chance to rock climb, an experience which none of them had done before. Our tenants enjoyed themself as their adventurous side came out. The staff at Wolf Mountain were excellent as they helped to ensure everyone was safe and enjoyed themself. A lot of friendly competitiveness came out amongst some of the ACH staff and tenants.

After we left Wolf Mountain, we went to West Park in Wolverhampton where we had a few snacks & refreshments. We Played 5 aside and again, friendly competitiveness amongst the players & unfortunately the scores were 5 - 4.

It was a great day out! Our tenants loved it and wanted to return to do archery next time at Wolf Mountain which will happen soon!’
