August Wellbeing Retreat
Working at ACH doesn’t only involve being a great professional that knows how to manage their daily responsibilities. It is about the values that have deeps roots in everyone who is part of the team. Do you know why?
Because we want people to think and do nice things for others not because they have to, but because they want to. Anyone working at ACH has to interact with a lot more people than the office colleagues and we want them to always have their best interests at heart.
This month our Support Team along with 5 tenants have enjoyed the benefits of going on a wellbeing retreat. The retreat was possible as part of an application to the Originators fund, through Bristol City Council. It was planned to be a way for our support team and the tenants to have some time away from day-to-day responsibilities and the different layers of stress. Above all, it was a thought-through opportunity to have conversations, listen to what everyone wanted to share and build relationships.
They spent 2 nights together at the Hill House Retreat, where they could disconnect from other worries and have some bonding time with each other. This was done by engaging in activities such as hiking, campfire, outdoor games and board games, dancing and sharing food. The nature was there to wash off all the worries by giving an abundance of freshness, playful wind and insatiable hills and sky for colours of green and blue.
The wellbeing retreat was a way of creating a trustful space, allowing us to be a step closer to the people towards whom our efforts are mainly directed to. It was an experience to get closer to understand their challenges, their needs and how we can reshape our services to meet these in their integration process.
