'At the end of the course participants will have the opportunity to create one course each to contribute to a one-off six course tasting menu. This event will be open to the public and all profits will go back to the participants, in order for them to start a fund to develop their own food businesses.'

We are delighted to announce our co-created Accelerated Cooking Entrepreneurship (ACE) Course with Coexist Community Kitchen, starts today!

This is a 6 week course starting on the 26th September, where budding food entrepreneurs will learn how to professionally run a catering business with expert help.

ACH is excited to be working with Coexist Community Kitchen, who work tirelessly for the community in East Bristol. Coexist Community Kitchen run weekly cooking classes for people who experience social marginalisation in the local community. They also run events, provide catering services and hire out their space to support their social outreach work.

Our Migrant Business Support Project works with people from a refugee or migrant background who are looking to start businesses. We provide pre-start and scale-up support for people looking to get ideas off the ground or take an existing business to the next level. Our Enterprise Facilitators help clients navigate barriers often encountered when starting a business, including; finance, registering with HMRC, marketing and developing business plans.

On the ACE course, each week the participants will learn a different skill, such as: awareness of the kitchen environment, developing a business plan, menu development and how to cost their business. Participants will also have a chance to have professional photos taken of their food, in order to help them with marketing their businesses.

Eloise, one of ACH’s Enterprise Facilitators said this about our collaboration with Coexist Community Kitchen:

“We are incredibly excited to be working with CO-EXIST Community Kitchen to expand the opportunities available to the clients we support. Ari and Kelly are experts in their field and will provide course participants with all the knowledge needed to run their own food business!”

We’re thrilled that our MBS entrepreneur Nesrin will be taking a leading role in delivering the course, running sessions on how to throw a launch party for food businesses for her fellow participants. Nesrin’s catering business Nessi Cuisine, showcases delicious vegetarian Egyptian street food. Following her business launch, Nessi Cuisine has catered for 200 people at the Watershed Café and for hundreds at community events in Bristol.

“Come to ACH, because you will find much support even financial and emotional support. Calculate first, what you want. Go to shops, which are related to the business you want to start. Do your market research.” - Nesrin

At the end of the course participants will have the opportunity to create one course each to contribute to a one-off six course tasting menu. This event will be open to the public and all profits will go back to the participants, in order for them to start a fund to develop their own food businesses.

We will be announcing the pop-up tasting menu very soon, so make sure you keep an eye on ACH’s social media for updates on how you can buy tickets!
